EEEF Donation Drive: Got Libraries?

Please help EEEF keep library services for the 2012-13 school year in all 18 schools in the Evergreen School District. For $695,932 we can keep ALL school libraries open four days a week. EEEF raised $93,000 last year! Please turn in your donation form with cash or check in an envelope to your school office, or donate online.

The Read-a-thon starts March 2.

Read 15 minutes for each $1 in pledges. Reading times are individual and age appropriate, and can be shared with AR and other reading assignments.

Awards for Top $ Pledges for each Group

Group 1 – lower grades (K-3) * Group 2 – upper grades (4-6) * Group 3 – middle school (7-8)

1^st Place – Apple iPad 2
2^nd Place – Apple iPod Touch
3^rd Place – Apple iPod Nano
4^th Place – Apple iPod Shuffle

Other awards include:

Top reader for minutes read from each classroom will be recognized with a medal.
Top classroom with the most pledges at each school will receive an ice cream party.
Top school with the most pledges will receive a plaque.

Pennies for Education

Thank you for making Pennies for Education a HUGE success last year. We raised almost $30,000 with all 18 schools combined. WOW!!! Our efforts will be ongoing for this year. EEEF is trying to raise $695,000 to keep all Evergreen district school libraries open four days a week for the 2012-13 school year. We need your help and support to make this happen. We hope to empower our children to work together and our community to take action to help Evergreen schools. Collection containers have been placed in each school office and classroom.

San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed is pleased to recognize the Evergreen Elementary Education Foundation as the District 8 State of the City Honoree at the Mayor’s Annual State of the City Address on Thursday, February 17th, 2011 at the San Jose Civic Auditorium at 6:00 p.m.

February 10th, 2011
EEEF handed the Evergreen School District a check for $50,000 at its Board of Trustees Meeting at Quimby Oak School.

August 7, 2010
Rose Herrera, District 8 Councilmember, featured EEEF in her column in the August 7-20 edition of the Evergreen Times (Volume 27, page 13).

Kick-off Meeting

A kick-off meeting was held for Evergreen Elementary Community-in-Action (EECIA) and Evergreen Elementary Education Foundation (EEEF). The meeting was very well-attended by over 50 parents, even though the meeting was held the night before the last day of school! Rose Herrera, District 8 Councilmember presented a check to EEEF for $500, our first contribution! A leadership team was formed from this group of volunteers and the foundation was formally incorporated over the summer!
