<p>* The <a href="http://www.newleaf.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #008000;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>New Leaf Community Market</strong></span></span></strong></a> at Canyon Creek Plaza (5667 Silver Creek Valley Rd.) sponsored EEEF for Community Day on Saturday, August 18, 2012. Together with the Back to School Bash, kids had lots of fun with free samples, haircuts, games, and facepainting. Thank you to all who participated!  At New Leaf, 5% of the day’s earnings (over $1000) went to EEEF’s preservation of Evergreen elementary and middle school libraries.</p>
<p>* This year’s EEEF fall fundraisers, the direct donation drive and the Read-a-Thon, raised about $30,000. Pennies for Education will continue in the spring.</p>
<p>* EEEF is excited to announce The 2012-2013 EEEF Business Partner Program, “I Care to Share”. Business partners will receive increased benefits at each partner level: Sponsor $100+, Bronze $250+, Silver $500+, Gold $1,000+, Platinum $2,500+, and Diamond $5,000+. Benefits to your business range from a window decal sticker to name recognition at EEEF events and in the ESD community. Please visit the BPP page for the brochure and benefits matrix and more details about the program. The EEEF BPP benefits will remain in effect until June 30, 2013, at which time you may renew your sponsorship. Please sign up today and partner with EEEF for quality education for all 13,200 students in all eighteen schools in the ESD. Together we can make a difference for our children’s education. <p>* EEEF president Mark Mao presented a check for <strong>$100,000</strong> to the Evergreen School District at their Board meeting on April 19, 2012 at Norwood Creek Elementary School, to be earmarked for school libraries. This amount includes last year&#8217;s profits of nearly $30K as well as some of the funds raised during the current school year.</p>

Our Read-a-Thon Bookfair at <a href="http://store-locator.barnesandnoble.com/store/2247?subtype=detailCalendar" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #008000;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Barnes &amp; Noble</span></span></strong></a> (Eastridge Mall), was Thursday, Nov. 29th. Between 10% and 20% of sales was  contributed to EEEF. Hundreds of children read books for the event and a chance to win prizes.  <em>Thanks to you, our loyal donors, we raised over $10,000!</em></p>

Together with the Back to School Bash, kids had lots of fun with free samples, haircuts, games, and facepainting. Thank you to all who participated!  At New Leaf, 5% of the day&#8217;s earnings (<em>over $1000</em>) went to EEEF&#8217;s preservation of Evergreen elementary and middle school libraries.</p>

A kick-off meeting was held for Evergreen Elementary Community-in-Action (EECIA) and Evergreen Elementary Education Foundation (EEEF).  The meeting was very well-attended by over 50 parents, even though the meeting was held the night before the last day of school!  Rose Herrera, District 8 Councilmember presented a check to EEEF for $500, our first contribution!  A leadership team was formed from this group of volunteers and the foundation was formally incorporated over the summer!</p>
